Lagos De Janeiro, a title that cleverly bridges the gap between Nigeria’s heartbeat and Brazil’s vibrant culture. Released in December 18 2025, the project features a daring fusion of Afrobeats and Brazilian Phonk, proving that global sounds are the new frontier.
In the opening track, “Rabbi Olohun” M3LON masterfully blends heavy Yoruba Fuji elements with a gritty Brazilian funk beat. The song serves as a powerful prayer filled with positive affirmations. The title itself is a divine double-tap: “Rabbi” is Arabic for “my lord,” and “Olohun” is Yoruba for “God.” The repetitive chant creates an hypnotic, uplifting energy that is as much a spiritual experience as it is a club banger.
The mood takes a sharp turn on the second track “How bad”. M3LON swaps the pulpit for the bedroom, pivoting from godly gratitude to raw desire. He kicks things off with a clever, playful bar: “Is your name Phineas the way you feigning over me?”—a tongue-in-cheek reference to the craving (or “feening”) he’s inspiring. Maintaining the Afro-Brazilian fusion, he repeatedly asks the central question, “How bad do you want it?”, challenging his muse to embrace their naughty side before the project draws to a close.
